How to Apply

All applicants, either local, European or any other country should be aware of the exact process, deadlines and supporting documents in order to apply for a program of study.

As we perceive that applying for a program of study can cause anxiety and be quite time-consuming, we have collected some helpful information to guide you properly through the process.

Please read carefully the information provided in this section and follow the instructions given wisely. This will help you to ensure that everything runs quickly and efficiently.

Stage 1: Initial Application

You will need to download, print and complete the Application for Admission form and then send it along with the following attested documents. During this process the Academic Director will assess if you qualify for entry on to our courses.

  1. A photocopy of your passport or ID which clearly displays your name, date of birth, passport number, passport issue date and expiry date. For International Students: your passport must be valid for at least 2 years from the date of your application.
  2. A copy of your secondary and higher secondary school certificates (Apolyterion) and grades. Your transcript must indicate a 75% average overall grade or higher. These documents must be translated in English and attested.
  3. A copy of your evidence of knowledge for English Language. See the minimum English language requirements.
  4. A personal statement of interest for the relevant course.
  5. A non-refundable Application fee of €60.
  • No stamps are needed at this stage.
  • Attestations must be done by the School’s Principal, from which the student has graduated.
  • If those documents are issued in other language other than English, it is required to be translated in English and be attached to the copies of the original certificates, both attested.
  • You have to send the above by email: admissions@cbscy.ac.cy or fax: +357 22664910.
  • After these documents have been assessed by the Academic Director, you will receive the College’s decision.

Stage 2: Submitting Documents

If you have been approved by the College and you have received an Acceptance/Offer Letter, you will need to submit the following documents by post or courier service (DHL), with the appropriate stamps (depending on your country of origin):

  1. Attested Passport copy which includes all information such as name, date of birth, passport number, passport issue date and expiry date. The first six pages of the passport should by first attested by Notary Public and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Your passport must be valid for at least 2 years from the date of your application.
  2. Officially attested copy of your secondary / high school leaving certificates and grades. Both must be translated into English and be attested by the Education Board, the Ministry of Education and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The name and address of the translator must be mentioned clearly on the documents.
  3. A copy of the medical report (blood test) from a government hospital stating that you are negative for diseases such as Hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS 1 and 2, Syphilis (four months validity) and an original X-ray report revealing that you do not suffer from Tuberculosis (Fymatiosis). The reports must be attested by Notary Public, by the Ministry of Health and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  4. An officially attested copy police clearance certificate stating that you are clear from any criminal convictions ( 6 months validity). This certificate must be signed by an official Police Officer and attested by Notary Public and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  5. An attested copy of Parental Consent (in English) in case the student is under the age of 18. The attestation must be done by Notary Public and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  6. A copy of the bank statement for the last 6 months plus a copy bank sponsorship letter (certificate) which states your sponsor’s name and your relationship with the sponsor (father, sister, uncle, etc.). It must also state that the sponsor has more than €7000 in his/her account and is able and willing to support your studies and expenses abroad. The letter must be dated, signed and stamped by an official bank officer and the attestation must be done by Notary Public and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If it is not English, then an official translation must be attached to the original.
  7. Six (6) passport size photos.
  8. Acceptance letter from an Educational Institution, in order to register to a program of studies, including a description of the specific program of studies and its duration.
  9. Receipt of payment of registration fees to the Educational Institution (€3000).
  10. Payment of the amount of €190 for visa costs.

Note 1: The above documents (except h, i and j) must be stamped by:

  1. All the above documents, except the Medical Report (c) must be stamped by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  2. The Medical Report must be stamped by the Ministry of Health
  3. When steps i. and ii. are completed, all the above documents must then be attested by the Cyprus Consulate/Embassy in the country of the student.

OR

Applications from countries which have signed the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961 require the Apostle Attestation and not the stamps mentioned in Note 1 (i, ii and iii). In that case an Apostille is fixed on the documents by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Public Order. Documents should be presented to the Embassy/Consulate office to be checked and attested.

Note 2: The above requirements may change according to Cyprus Migration regulations each semester. The College will inform you for any changes.


Stage 3: Processing the Documents

  1. After the college receives the full set of documents with all the appropriate stamps the admissions office will apply to the Migration department.
  2. Once the migration department approves the student’s documents, we will send a copy of the application to the Embassy/Consulate where the interview will take place. If the student is successful, he/she will receive his/her visa.

Stage 4: Payment

Students must then pay the remaining outstanding balance (€3000) presented on their Acceptance Letter for their first year of study. The payment must be in the form of bank transfer and completed prior the arrival of the student at the College of Business Studies. The College’s bank accounts are the following:

Note 3: The student will be able to receive his/her passport and visa when he/she proceeds with the college’s agreed fees.


Stage 5: Arrival at the College

  1. The students should inform the College for their arrival/flight details in order to arrange their transportation from the airport, at students’ cost.
  2. In case the students did not arrange any accommodation for the first days of their arrival, the college can proceed to these arrangements, at students’ cost.
  3. Upon arrival the students must present to the immigration authorities the following:
  1. Original passport
  2. A copy of the entry permit
  3. Copy of the receipt issued by the college concerning the students’ tuition payment and other fees for one year.
  4. Original receipt issued by the bank regarding prepayment via bank transfer with the college’s name, account number and the student’s name, passport and application number stated in the receipt.
  5. Original/copy of the Acceptance/Offer Letter.
  6. Cash money at least €2000 for their first months of living expenses.
  7. Visit the College and proceed with the registration process.

Important Notes

  • The original passport, academic certificates, mark sheets, the original parental consent, the bank certificate and statement, the medical certificates and the police clearance certificate must be presented for checking at the time of the interview.
  • No fees paid to the college are refundable, unless the College fails to obtain a visa for the student provided that the student submitted all the documents required and were considered as satisfactory by the Ministry of Education and the Immigration authorities.
  • Students MUST attend their classes regularly. Those who do not attend their classes are reported to the Cyprus Migration Department.
  • The migration regulations require students to register in every semester. Students who do not register in a semester (fall or spring) should leave Cyprus and remain outside the country until the end of the semester.
  • All students must create a bank account in a local bank as the migration requires. The minimum amount they must deposit and maintain at all times is €850.

Once the student has paid all the fees and the migration department has approved the student’s documents, they will proceed with the issuance of his/her visa. The College will send to the student a copy of his/her entry permit (visa) by email or fax.

Note: A student is allowed to fly to Cyprus only after he/she has received a copy of his/her visa.
